Description
The Shenzhen Innovative City Technology and Culture Summer Camp is organized by the Center for Continuing Education of the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and supported by the Center for Business Studies and Innovation in Asia-Pacific (CBSI) of the University of San Francisco. The summer camp is scheduled in Shenzhen, China, from May 28 to June 4, 2025.
The trip to China sponsored by CBSI aims to provide students with a first-hand learning experience to help them understand (1) the significant transformations taking place in the economic and business environment in China; (2) How the US-China trade dispute could shape China's future economic development, global trade and economy; (3) the driving forces for the rise of China innovation, Chinese multinationals and their outbound FDI; (4) What are the opportunities and threats for businesses both inside and outside China; (5) How will One Belt and One Road (OBOR) change the trade and investment relations between China and the OBOR as well as other countries, and (6) how cultural values in China shape the way business is done in the country as well as impact on their international business partnerships.
Such hands-on, people-to-people activities provide the USF students with opportunities to immerse themselves in the local cultural and business environment and gain a life-changing experience during a nine-day study trip to Shenzhen, China, a city of innovation, which is home to famous companies like Tencent and BYD.
Shenzhen is part of China's Greater Bay Area, home to 86 million people, and boasts a GDP of over US$2 trillion. It is a perfect venue for any student who aspires to develop a career in international business, entrepreneurship, innovation, and any related field. This trip may broaden their networks and enhance internships/job opportunities.
