Description
The Ocean Negative Carbon Emissions (ONCE) program is one of the most active programs supporting the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. The Intelligent Coastal-Urban-Bay CO2 Emission Studies (iCUBES) project under the ONCE program aims to provide global youth with opportunities to understand and explore the ocean, comprehend the complex relationship between marine ecology and climate change, and promote sustainable development through technological means, building a future where humans and nature coexist harmoniously.
This project is scheduled to launch in 2025, planning to recruit up to 35 international students to participate in a ten-day summer school. It will cover academic seminars on ocean-negative carbon emission technology, drone array applications, special lectures by renowned scholars, cultural exchanges, and maritime internships, aiming to foster mutual understanding and the spirit of international cooperation.
